On April 20, 2021, an afternoon lecture “The Changing System of Psychiatric Care in the Czech Republic” took place. It was organized by Purkyňův nadační fond (Purkyně Foundation) in cooperation with the Psychiatric Society of the Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyně and hosted by Prof. Dr. Karel Cvachovec, chairman of Purkyně Foundation.
Assoc. Prof. Martin Anders, Martin Hollý M.D., director of the Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital, and Simona Papežová M.D. from the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic talked about the key ongoing changes in psychiatric care in the Czech Republic and about the principles of multidisciplinary cooperation in practice. The webinar finished with a lecture by Assoc. Prof. Martin Anders presenting a very current topic – “Covid and mental health.”
Purkyně Foundation usually organizes educational seminars for members of the Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyně in spring and in autumn. The lecture “The Changing System of Psychiatric Care in the Czech Republic” was the first online webinar organized by the foundation and it received a great response.
The Association House is already looking forward to organizing next seminar or webinar for the foundation in the second half of the year.
