In the first half of 2026, the competition recognizing the publication achievements of young physicians entered its 11th year. Through this initiative, the Purkyně Foundation Fund traditionally highlights outstanding scientific papers published in impact-factor journals — this time for the year 2025. The long-term aim of the initiative is to support promising authors from the Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyně under the age of 35.
The expert jury evaluated the submitted papers across surgical, internal medicine and theoretical disciplines, focusing both on the impact factor itself and on the overall methodological and scientific quality of the works. The highlight of this year’s competition was the award ceremony held on 15 September 2026, where the laureates received their awards in the historic Sala terrena of the Valdštejn Palace, alongside the recipients of the 2025 awards of the Presidium of the Czech Medical Association of J. E. Purkyně. Stable operational support and association management for the Fund have long been provided by Association House.
